According to the technical scheme, the preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing elemental Si powder, h-BN powder, elemental Ti powder and a tempering agent to obtain mixed powder; placing the mixed powder, absolute ethyl alcohol and ball milling beads in a high-speed ball mill for ball milling to obtain slurry; drying and screening the slurry to obtain a screened material; placing the hot-pressing mold I with the sieved material in a hot-pressing sintering furnace, carrying out heat preservation and pressure maintaining, furnace cooling and pressure relief in nitrogen under the pressure of 10-30 MPa and the temperature of 1300-1450 DEG C to obtain a pre-sintered side sealing plate, placing the hot-pressing mold II with the pre-sintered side sealing plate in the hot-pressing sintering furnace, carrying out heat preservation and pressure maintaining in an inert atmosphere under the pressure of 100-200 MPa and the temperature of 1400-1500 DEG C, and carrying out furnace cooling and pressure relief to obtain a pre-sintered side sealing plate; and preparing the boron nitride-based composite ceramic for the thin-strip continuous casting side sealing plate. The prepared product has the characteristics of low heat conductivity, good corrosion resistance, high high-temperature bending strength and long service life.
