The invention relates to the technical field of concrete admixtures, and particularly discloses a modified macromonomer and a low-shrinkage mud-resistant polycarboxylic acid water reducer. The modified macromonomer is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 480 to 720 parts of unsaturated polyether macromonomer, 16 to 40 parts of dicarboxylic acid or tricarboxylic acid and 2.1 to 16.0 parts of catalyst; the catalyst is one or more of concentrated sulfuric acid, zinc acetate, p-toluenesulfonic acid and 4-dimethylaminopyridine. The water reducing agent synthesized by the modified macromonomer has excellent mud resistance and low shrinkage reduction.
