The invention provides a preparation method of a high-strength and high-toughness silicon carbide ceramic material, which comprises the following steps: mixing SiC powder, graphite powder, a dispersant, a binder and a solvent, and carrying out ball milling to obtain mixed slurry; carrying out spray granulation on the mixed slurry to obtain composite powder; molding the composite powder to obtain a ceramic biscuit; degreasing the ceramic biscuit to obtain a degreased biscuit; and siliconizing the degreased biscuit to obtain the high-strength and high-toughness silicon carbide ceramic material. By calculating the siliconizing amount, the siliconizing amount reacts with part of graphite to completely generate silicon carbide, redundant graphite serves as a second phase to be reserved in SiC ceramic to improve the self-lubricating performance of the material, and finally the high-strength and high-toughness silicon carbide ceramic material is obtained.
