The invention discloses a rock-filled roadbed edge-covering soil construction method for expansive soil. The method comprises the following steps that (1) earthwork used for construction is allocated; (2) soil sample detection is conducted on a roadbed needing edge covering soil, the grade of expansive soil is determined, and therefore the roadbed filling construction grade used by the expansive soil is determined; (3) filling edge covering soil on the two sides of the roadbed; and (4) a vibratory roller with the weight being 20 t or above or a high-power impact type roller is selected for horizontally filling the middle roadbed in a layered mode, and inclined filling construction is strictly prohibited. The construction method provided by the invention has outstanding effects of protecting the surrounding environment, saving energy and reducing emission, reduces the construction cost of the waste slag field and the direct and indirect cost of environmental assessment work, reduces the unnecessary trouble of handover acceptance, reduces the interference of the construction work on the surrounding environment, creates huge social benefits, accumulates precious experience for domestic expansive soil roadbed construction, and has good economic benefits.
