The invention discloses a vibration reduction mechanism for an overwater platform and a using method thereof.The vibration reduction mechanism is arranged between an offshore buoy and the overwater platform and comprises a mounting plate arranged on the offshore buoy, a silo is arranged on the mounting plate, and a plurality of sets of electromagnets and rubber columns are alternately arranged in the silo; the polarity directions of the electromagnets are opposite; a contact friction plate connected with the water platform is arranged at the top of the silo, and the contact friction plate penetrates through the silo to abut against the electromagnet or the rubber column; spring damping assemblies are arranged on the two sides of the contact friction plate respectively, one end of each spring damping assembly is connected with the contact friction plate, and the other end of each spring damping assembly is connected with the mounting plate. Active vibration reduction and passive vibration reduction are combined, different vibration conditions can be adapted, and the vibration reduction performance and reliability are improved.
