The invention discloses alkali-activated coal gangue concrete and a preparation method thereof. The alkali-activated coal gangue concrete is prepared from the following materials in parts by weight: 20-30 parts of coal gangue blocks, 25-35 parts of lightweight aggregate, 30-40 parts of sand, 1-3 parts of an alkali activator, 1-3 parts of a water reducing agent and a plurality of parts of a water source. According to the alkali-activated coal gangue concrete and the preparation method thereof, in the pretreatment process, through high-temperature calcination, a layered structure and a crystal structure of the alkali-activated coal gangue concrete can be partially damaged, and at the moment, a mineral structure is in a loose and porous state, and a metastable structure with multiple internal broken bonds and a large specific surface area is achieved; the calcined coal gangue is in a metastable state, main structural bonds of the calcined coal gangue are Si-O bonds and A1-O bonds, later treatment is facilitated, the purpose of effectively improving the compressive strength of the alkali-activated coal gangue concrete can be achieved by filling the coal gangue powder, meanwhile, during production, generated waste is treated through an effective means, and the production cost is reduced.
