The invention discloses an assembly type temporary protection system which comprises a plurality of main vertical rods installed on an installation foundation, a plurality of transverse rods are connected and installed between any two adjacent main vertical rods, and each main vertical rod is provided with a plurality of connecting pieces which are sequentially arranged at intervals from bottom to top. Each connecting piece is provided with two connecting parts horizontally extending towards the two sides of the main vertical rods correspondingly, the cross rod between at least two adjacent main vertical rods comprises two end head pipes and a straight rod connected between the two end head pipes, and end openings in one ends of the end head pipes are connected to the outer portions of the ends of the straight rods in a sleeving mode in the mode that the mutual sleeving depth can be adjusted. The port of the other end of the end pipe is sleeved outside the connecting part of the connecting piece on the main vertical rod in a manner of adjusting the mutual sleeving depth, and detachable locking devices for correspondingly fixing the straight rod and the connecting part respectively are arranged at the two ends of the end pipe. The device has the advantages of being high in use flexibility, wide in application range, good in attractiveness, low in assembly difficulty, high in assembly efficiency, stable and reliable in structure and the like.
