The invention relates to a roof structure of a steel structure and a construction method.The roof structure comprises a supporting truss arranged on concrete columns, a steel beam frame arranged on the supporting truss, a purline frame arranged on the steel beam frame and a ceiling arranged on the purline frame, and the steel beam frame comprises longitudinal beams and cross beams; the longitudinal beams and the transverse beams are distributed in a criss-cross mode and form a plurality of beam frame units, and cross fastening assemblies used for connecting and fastening every two adjacent longitudinal beams are arranged on the beam frame units. The cross fastening assembly comprises two lock pull rods arranged in a cross mode and adjusting bases arranged on the longitudinal beams, connecting bases are arranged on the adjusting bases, and the two ends of each lock pull rod penetrate through the two connecting bases distributed on the two longitudinal beams in a diagonal mode respectively. The lock pull rod is provided with a connecting fastener used for being connected with the longitudinal beam in a fastening mode. The device has the effect of being stable in structure.
