The invention provides a prefabricated steel box girder small section installation temporary support device, a temporary support comprises an upper wedge body and a lower wedge body, the lower wedge body and the upper wedge body are stacked up and down to form a supporting structure, and an adjusting screw rod penetrates through the two ends of the supporting structure and enables the lower wedge body and the upper wedge body to form an integral structure through adjusting nuts at the two ends. The method is suitable for continuous rigid frame bridge engineering with closure section steel box girders installed in a segmented mode in the bridge width direction. The top elevation of the temporary support is increased or decreased by rotating the long-barrel adjusting nuts on the two sides of the wedge body of the temporary support to move on the adjusting screw rod.
