The invention discloses a chopped silicon carbide fiber toughened composite ceramic material and a preparation method thereof, and the composite ceramic material comprises the following raw materials by weight: 0.5-10 parts of chopped carbon fiber; 35-75 parts of silicon carbide particles; 3-35 parts of boron carbide particles; 10 to 30 parts of resin; 3-15 parts of a curing agent; 0.5-5 parts of a dispersant; the preparation method comprises the following steps: sequentially adding silicon oxide particles, boron carbide particles and chopped silicon carbide fibers into resin, and stirring in a vacuum stirrer for 15-240 minutes; adding the dispersing agent and the curing agent into the mixed slurry according to the formula proportion, and performing vacuum stirring again for 15-240 minutes; and setting at room temperature, and curing at 80-280 DEG C for 1-48 hours to obtain a target ceramic finished product. The composite ceramic material provided by the invention has higher hardness and wear resistance.
