The invention relates to the technical field of asphalt materials, and particularly discloses paving asphalt filler and a preparation process thereof. The paving asphalt filler comprises the following components in parts by mass: 3-4 parts of asphalt; 91 to 99 parts of aggregate; 1-1.3 parts of compound oil; 9-12 parts of a composite filler; the compound oil is compounded by wax oil, perilla seed oil and pine oil. The preparation process of the paving asphalt filler comprises the following steps: 1) heating and mixing the asphalt and the composite oil to obtain a premix, and 2) adding the aggregate and the composite filler into the premix, and uniformly mixing to obtain the paving asphalt filler. The preparation method has the advantage of improving the crack resistance of the paving asphalt filler at low temperature.
