The invention provides ceramsite prepared from gasified slag and a preparation method of the ceramsite, and the ceramsite is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 80-100 parts of gasified fine slag, 0-20 parts of a binder, 0-10 parts of carbon powder and 40-60 parts of a water glass solution, wherein the mass concentration of the water glass solution is 24.5-46%, the modulus of the water glass solution is 1.0-2.4, and the binder comprises one or more of fly ash, gasified coarse slag or furnace bottom slag; the dry basis carbon content of the gasified fine slag is 10-40%, and the total amount of SiO2 and Al2O3 in the dry basis of the gasified fine slag except carbon is greater than or equal to 50%.
