The invention relates to the technical field of drainage systems, in particular to a tailing pond automatic drainage system which comprises a filtrate collecting pipe used for collecting filtrate, a drainage pipeline used for leading out the filtrate in the filtrate collecting pipe, a water collecting ditch located below the filtrate collecting pipe, a water tank used for guiding water and a control system. The filtrate collecting pipe is located in the tailing pond, and the top of the filtrate collecting pipe is exposed out of the tailing pond; the water tank is located below the filtrate collecting pipe, the top of the water tank is provided with a one-way exhaust valve used for exhausting air outwards, and the drainage pipeline is connected with the top of the water tank through an upper pipeline and connected with the bottom of the water tank through a lower pipeline. An electric control valve is arranged at a position, between the upper pipeline and the lower pipeline, on the drainage pipeline; the opening degree of the electric adjusting valve can be adjusted at any time according to the change of the liquid level, so that the water content and the infiltration line of the tailings pond are kept within a small interval.
