The invention discloses an energy-saving electromagnetic lock and a driving control method thereof. The electromagnetic lock comprises a lock body and a rotation control device, the lock body comprises a rotating magnetic pole, and the rotating magnetic pole at the door closing position/the door opening position enables the working face of the adsorption side of the lock body to keep magnetic force/lose magnetic force. According to the control method, during door opening, the rotating control device controls the rotating magnetic pole to rotate from the door closing position to the door opening position, the working face of the adsorption side of the lock body loses magnetic force, door opening of the access control is completed, then the rotating control device controls the rotating magnetic pole to rotate and reset from the door opening position to the door closing position, magnetic force of the magnetic rail of the working face of the lock body is recovered, and door closing of the access control is completed.
