The invention relates to a rainwater regulation and storage wetland purification system and a purification method. The purification system comprises a front pond, a dry stream, a wetland purification pond and a riverway which are sequentially communicated in the water flow direction, a first water distribution gabion wall is arranged between the front pond and the dry stream in the transverse direction, a second water distribution gabion wall is arranged between the dry stream and the wetland purification pond in the transverse direction, the wetland purification pond is provided with a purification pond overflow weir, and the purification pond overflow weir is provided with a first water distribution gabion wall and a second water distribution gabion wall. The purification pond overflow weir is located between the wetland purification pond and the river channel, and the highest water level heights of the front pond, the dry stream and the wetland purification pond are sequentially reduced; according to the purification method, the purification system is adopted for regulating, storing and purifying urban rainwater and external guest water. Urban rainwater is regulated and stored through reasonable planning and design, reasonable utilization and discharge of rainwater resources are achieved, the risk of urban waterlogging can be relieved, the flood fighting capacity of cities can be improved, rainwater can be purified, water pollution is avoided, and the environment is protected.
