The invention discloses a method for excavating a foundation pit close to a metro. The method comprises the steps that a foundation pit to be excavated is divided into a plurality of small foundation pits relatively close to the metro and a plurality of large foundation pits relatively far away from the metro; sequentially excavating a plurality of large foundation pits according to the excavation principle that the foundation pit with the designed shallow excavation depth is firstly excavated and then the foundation pit with the designed deep excavation depth is excavated; each small foundation pit is excavated in a layered excavation mode, and the layered excavation mode comprises the steps that when a current layer of soil body is excavated, an excavation operation face is excavated downwards in advance; after the excavation of the current layer of soil body is completed, firstly moving excavation equipment to the excavation operation surface, and then carrying out foundation pit supporting at the excavated position of the current layer; and after supporting is completed, the next layer of soil body excavation is started from the current excavation operation face, the next excavation operation face is reserved, the operation is repeated till the current small foundation pit excavation is completed, and the construction efficiency is improved while the foundation pit excavation stability is improved through the excavation method.
