The method comprises the following steps: (1) processing a storage tank modular assembly according to a design drawing; (2) the storage tank modular assembly is transferred to a construction site; (3) the completed foundation is measured and positioned, and a tank bottom plate is installed; (4) the first-class tank wall plate is installed, and reinforcing rings are installed on the inner side and the outer side of the first-class tank wall plate after installation; (5) second-class tank wall plates are installed, and edge covering angle steel is installed inside and outside the second-class tank wall plates located on the tank top after installation; (6) a tank top center ring is installed, and a tank top plate supporting steel structure is installed after installation; (7) mounting a tank top plate, and mounting a branch pipe after mounting; (8) mounting a safety assembly; and (9) the heat preservation assembly is installed and accepted. The method is suitable for non-standard storage tank construction.
