The invention relates to the technical field of concrete admixtures, in particular to an ether polycarboxylic acid water reducer as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The preparation method of the ether polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent comprises the following steps: carrying out esterification reaction on hydroxycinnamic acid and polyethylene glycol, and carrying out free radical polymerization reaction on an obtained esterification monomer, an unsaturated polyether monomer, an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and a carboxylic acid phenyl ester monomer. The preparation method is characterized in that an unsaturated polyether monomer, an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer, an esterification monomer and a carboxylic acid phenyl ester monomer are copolymerized to be introduced into a polycarboxylic acid molecular chain at the same time, the esterification monomer contains polyhydroxy phenyl and a polyethylene glycol chain segment, the carboxylic acid phenyl ester monomer contains two benzoic acid groups/benzoate groups/benzoate, and the two benzoic acid groups/benzoate groups/benzoate are copolymerized. Therefore, the obtained ether polycarboxylic acid water reducer not only is small in slump and expansion degree gradual loss, but also is low in corresponding concrete bleeding rate and has good mud resistance and workability.
