The invention discloses a prestressed tendon tensioning system and a construction method thereof. The prestressed tendon tensioning system comprises a tensioning jack; the pressure sensor is used for collecting oil pressure in the tensioning jack and is mounted in the tensioning jack; the displacement sensor is mounted at the telescopic end of the tensioning jack so as to collect the elongation of the telescopic end; the hydraulic pump station comprises an oil pipe used for being connected with an oil tank and a proportional valve, a metering pump is installed on the oil pipe, one end of the proportional valve is connected to the oil pipe, and an oil inlet of the tensioning jack is connected to the other end of the proportional valve through a conveying pipe. An oil outlet of the tensioning jack is connected to the other end of the proportional valve through a return pipe, and a one-way valve is installed on the conveying pipe. And the controller is connected to the pressure sensor, the displacement sensor, the metering pump and the proportional valve. The prestressed tendon tensioning system solves the problem that the control accuracy of the tensioning control stress of an existing prestressed tendon tensioning system is not high.
