The invention discloses an environment-friendly admixture for concrete and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method of the environment-friendly admixture for concrete comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing 5-10 parts of a water-retaining agent, 3-6 parts of a shrinkage reducing agent, 40-60 parts of a waste paper abrasive, 10-17 parts of a mulberry leaf extract and 4-6 parts of modified carbon nanofibers, and bagging for later use as a solid component; independently packaging 20-35 parts of the modified water reducing agent as a liquid component; when in use, the solid component and the liquid component are added into concrete. According to the additive disclosed by the invention, through the synergistic effect of the components of the modified water reducing agent, the water-retaining agent, the waste paper abrasive, the mulberry leaf extract, the modified carbon nanofiber and the shrinkage reducing agent, the setting time of concrete is adjusted, the slump loss is reduced, and the durability, strength, crack resistance and carbonization resistance of the concrete are improved.
