The invention discloses an aggregate alkali activity inhibiting material which is prepared from the following components in percentage by mass: 10-20% of modified polyvinyl alcohol fiber, 10-20% of modified polyformaldehyde fiber, 15-30% of basalt fiber, 10-20% of steel fiber and 25-35% of nano metakaolin, and the sum of the mass percentages of the components is 100%. The invention further discloses a preparation method of the aggregate alkali active inhibiting material. The preparation method comprises the following steps: stirring and mixing the modified polyvinyl alcohol fiber, the basalt fiber and the nano metakaolin, adding the modified polyformaldehyde fiber and the steel fiber, and stirring and mixing again; the invention has the characteristics of inhibiting the harm of aggregate alkali activity reaction to concrete and improving the workability and mechanical properties of concrete.
