The preparation method comprises the following steps: preparing a solution 1 from tetraethoxysilane and absolute ethyl alcohol, preparing a solution 2 from m-cresol, a formaldehyde aqueous solution and anhydrous sodium carbonate, and preparing a solution 3 from deionized water, absolute ethyl alcohol and glacial acetic acid; and mixing the solution 1, the solution 2 and the solution 3, and performing water bath, heat treatment and sintering. The preparation process is simple, the porous structure of the high-porosity silicon carbide ceramic material can be effectively adjusted and controlled by adjusting the ratio of the raw materials and the viscosity of the solution, the cost of the raw materials is low, the requirement on processing conditions is low, the preparation period of the porous silicon carbide ceramic material can be shortened, and low-cost and large-scale production of the porous silicon carbide ceramic is realized; the prepared high-porosity silicon carbide ceramic material can be applied to preparation of a C/SiC composite material, rapid densification is achieved, the preparation period is shortened, and meanwhile the production cost is reduced.
