The invention discloses a carbonizable balancing weight with steel slag as a main component and a preparation method of the carbonizable balancing weight. The grouting material comprises the following raw materials: cement, steel slag powder, silica fume, steel slag sand, water and a water reducing agent. According to the invention, the steel slag is adopted as a main component system design, the carbonization activity of the steel slag is fully utilized, the carbonization degree of the sample is improved, and the preparation of the environment-friendly counterweight material with high carbon sequestration amount is realized. The counterweight concrete is prepared by adopting a preset aggregate technology, so that the problem of concrete segregation caused by sedimentation of counterweight components in the counterweight concrete can be effectively prevented, meanwhile, the use volume fraction of the steel slag coarse aggregate can be greatly increased, and the apparent density of the counterweight concrete is ensured; meanwhile, gaps of the steel slag coarse aggregate are filled with the steel slag sand and the steel slag powder, so that the close packing degree of the material is improved, the apparent density of the counterweight concrete is further improved, and the contradiction between counterweight components in the counterweight concrete and sample uniformity is solved.
