The invention discloses a compound, a heat preservation cover plate and a method. The compound for improving the heat insulation performance of the heat preservation cover plate is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 50 to 70 parts of SiO2 micro powder, 5 to 15 parts of alpha-Al2O3 micro powder, 25 to 40 parts of mullite refractory fiber, 10 to 15 parts of a composite binding agent of carboxymethyl cellulose and 180 to 550 parts of water. The compound disclosed by the invention can be used for forming a heat-insulating cover plate, and the obtained heat-insulating cover plate is relatively good in heat-insulating property and relatively small in volume density.
