The invention discloses foam concrete and a preparation method thereof. The foam concrete comprises cement, fly ash, water, a water reducing agent, a foaming agent, a foam stabilizer and a bubble control agent. The bubble control agent is prepared by mixing a water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive and a temperature-sensitive adhesive, wherein the phase change temperature of the temperature-sensitive adhesive is controlled to be 20-30 DEG C; the foaming agent is hydrogen peroxide. Through the temperature sensitivity and pressure sensitivity effects of the bubble control agent in the foaming process, control over the bubble volume is achieved, and generation of communicating pores is avoided; hydrogen peroxide serves as a foaming agent, the effect of controlling the bubble volume is achieved through the pressure-sensitive adhesive and the temperature-sensitive adhesive, bubbles are controlled to be further expanded through the pressure-sensitive adhesive in the bubble increasing process, and the bubble volume is controlled through the temperature-sensitive adhesive; by adopting the proportion, the strength of the foam concrete can be improved, and the water absorption rate and the heat conductivity coefficient of the foam concrete can be reduced.
