The invention discloses an adjustable movable pile gripper for an offshore wind power installation vessel and a working method, two pile gripping assemblies in mirror symmetry are matched to form a layer of pile gripping unit, and movement of the whole pile gripping unit is achieved in a rail mode; the large pile holding arm and the small pile holding arm are controlled through the large arm driving mechanism and the small arm driving mechanism correspondingly, the opening and closing degree of the pile holding arms can be controlled according to the site construction requirement, and the overall safety is improved. The pile-embracing large arm, the pile-embracing small arm and the mounting seat are respectively provided with a pile foundation fixing telescopic arm, so that pile foundations with large and small diameters are fixed in an auxiliary manner, and the requirements of multiple working conditions are met; locking devices are arranged on the small pile embracing arm, the mounting base and the tower, the locking devices on the mounting base and the tower guarantee the overall stability when the front pile embracing arm and the rear pile embracing arm are folded, the locking devices on the small pile embracing arm guarantee the stability when the small pile embracing arm embraces a pile body, and therefore the small pile embracing arm, the mounting base and the tower cannot fall off or be separated in the operation process. And the stability and safety of the pile foundation are ensured.
