The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock, in particular a motor vehicle door lock, equipped with: a locking device (1, 2), which mainly comprises locking device components (1, 2), namely a bolt (1) and a pawl (2); at least one sensor (3) for querying the position of the bolt (1) and the pawl (2); at least one detection element (5) between the sensor (3) and the associated locking device member (1, 2). The detection element (5) has a pawl profile (6) for detecting the locking position of the pawl (2) and a bolt profile (7) for detecting the locking position of the bolt (1). The detection element (5) is further designed to be rotatable relative to the shaft. Furthermore, the detection element (5) is preloaded by means of a spring (9) in the direction of the locking device (1, 2). According to the invention, the spring (9) is designed in a stationary manner and is equipped with a splayed spring arm (9b), which acts on the detection element (5).
