The invention relates to an unfired light efficient water treatment filter material regenerated by using construction waste and a preparation method thereof. The filter material is characterized by consisting of foam particles (1) serving as a core, a wrapping layer (2) and an attapulgite surface layer (3), wherein the wrapping layer (2) is wrapped on the surface of the foam particles (1) and consists of construction waste powder; and the attapulgite surface layer (3) is arranged on the surface of the wrapping layer (2). The device is simple in structure, wide in raw material source, low in cost, convenient and reliable to manufacture, free of pollution and environmentally friendly.
