The invention relates to the technical field of novel building materials and recycling of solid wastes, in particular to a building material prepared from solid wastes and a preparation method of the building material. The building material is prepared from raw materials in percentage by mass as follows: 70%-75% of solid waste, 10%-15% of cement, 1.9%-3.04% of an auxiliary cementing material, 0.23% of cellulose, 0.13%-0.17% of a chemical foaming agent, 1.6%-1.7% of a reinforcing agent and 10%-11% of water. According to the building material prepared by the method, the curing and hardening time can be shortened, CO2 can be sealed and stored while solid waste is recycled, the purpose of carbon sequestration can be achieved, and the building material has good compressive strength and breaking strength.
