The invention provides a vehicle having a road surface drawing function capable of ensuring proper operation of a light projection component in a vehicle capable of drawing a road surface. A vehicle having a road surface drawing function is provided with: a light projection means capable of projecting light for road surface drawing toward a road surface; a control unit that controls the light projection for road surface drawing by the light projection means; and a detection device capable of detecting a state in which the light projecting member is projecting light. The control unit causes the light projection member to execute light projection for road surface drawing, and determines whether or not the light projection member is in a state suitable for light projection for road surface drawing on the basis of detection by the detection device. When the light projection member is suitable for the light projection for road surface drawing, the control unit starts the light projection for road surface drawing from the light projection member. When the light projection member is not suitable for the light projection for road surface drawing, the control unit prohibits the light projection for road surface drawing by the light projection member.
