The invention provides a C/C composite material with a surface coating and a preparation method thereof, the C/C composite material is used as a matrix, and the surface of the C/C composite material comprises a relief layer and an anti-oxidation layer from inside to outside; the relieving layer comprises the components of silicon carbide, free silicon, boric oxide and silicon oxide, and the thickness of the relieving layer is 40-90 microns; the components of the anti-oxidation layer comprise a boron oxide glass phase and ceramic particles, the ceramic particles comprise hafnium diboride, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, silicon carbide and molybdenum disilicide, and the thickness of the ceramic particles is 80-200 microns; the density of the C/C composite material matrix is 0.4-0.8 g/cm < 3 >. The preparation method comprises the steps that the relieving layer is obtained on the surface of the base body through brush coating and siliconizing processes, after pre-oxidation treatment, the anti-oxidation layer is obtained on the surface through a brush coating-sintering method, and due to the fact that the anti-oxidation layer contains the ceramic microparticles and the boron oxide glass phase, the coating is compact after being sintered.
