The invention discloses a crack control method for mass concrete, and relates to the technical field of building construction, and the method comprises the following steps: step 1, material preparation: preparing a concrete raw material, a chemical shrinkage reducing material, an internal curing agent, a shrinkage compensating material and a water evaporation inhibiting material; step 2, stirring: mixing and stirring the concrete raw material, the chemical shrinkage reducing material, the internal curing agent and the shrinkage compensating material to obtain concrete slurry; step 3, laying: pouring and flatly laying the concrete slurry, then spraying a water evaporation inhibition material and carrying out surface plastering treatment to obtain pre-set concrete; and 4, curing: covering the surface of the pre-set concrete with a plastic film, and carrying out standing curing treatment. A chain segment of the chemical reduction material prepared from polyether contains groups such as benzene rings, the rigidity of the chemical reduction material is higher than that of a traditional polycarboxylic acid copolymer, the shrinkage of the chemical reduction material in a cement-based material pore solution is small, the temperature shrinkage and self-shrinkage of concrete are reduced, and the temperature crack risk is reduced.
