The preparation method comprises the following steps: 1) isostatic compaction; (2) presintering; (3) machining; and 4) sintering a finished product. The hafnium oxide protection tube prepared by the method disclosed by the invention is high in mechanical strength and high in processing precision, and can be applied in a high-temperature environment of 2000 DEG C and above.
