The invention relates to a method for preparing closed-pore ceramsite by using iron ore tailings, and provides the following solution measures: taking the iron ore tailings as a main raw material, adjusting the contents of SiO2 and Al2O3 in the material through quartz powder and potassium feldspar, introducing SiC as a foaming agent, and firing at high temperature to obtain light ceramsite dominated by closed pores, on the basis of keeping light weight and heat preservation and heat insulation of the light ceramsite, an advanced infiltration process in a process of preparing concrete by using the light ceramsite as light aggregate is reduced, the process flow is simplified, and the production efficiency is improved; meanwhile, the special requirements of the water treatment process are met by utilizing the closed hole characteristic.
