The disclosed drive device for a roll-type curtain is characterized by comprising: a fixed part (10) fixedly disposed on one side of a spool (2); the rotating part (20) is rotatably mounted on the fixed part (10) and enables the winding drum (2) to rotate in the forward direction or the reverse direction so as to enable the curtain cloth (1) to descend or ascend; two driving ropes (30) which are hung on the rotating part (20) in an endless loop manner, are parallel to the lower side of the fixed part (10), and transmit rotating force to the rotating part (20); and an operation unit (40) coupled to the drive cord (30) so as to surround the drive cord (30) that is hooked toward the lower side of the fixed unit (10), the operation unit (40) rotating the drive cord (30) in the forward direction or in the reverse direction in accordance with a pulling operation by a user.
