The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock, in particular a motor vehicle door lock, which is equipped with an electric opening drive (5, 6) for a locking mechanism (1, 2) consisting essentially of a latch (1) and a pawl (2). Furthermore, a drive wheel (6) of the electric drive (5, 6) acts on the release lever (3) in order to open the locking mechanism (1, 2). According to the invention, a blocking lever (7) associated with the release lever (3) is provided, which blocking lever (7) is transferred from a blocking position to a release position for the release lever (3) by means of the unlocking latch (1).
