The preparation method of the defluorination water treatment agent comprises the following steps: mixing dolomite calcined dolomite and red mud, and roasting to obtain the defluorination water treatment agent. The mass ratio of the dolomite calcined dolomite to the red mud is (0.5-2): 1, the roasting temperature is 200-600 DEG C, and the roasting time is 1-4 hours. The fluorine removal water treatment agent is added into a fluorine-containing water body as an adsorbent, and fluorine ions can be efficiently removed, so that purification of the water body is realized.
