Refractory for continuous casting and refractory member
The present invention improves the corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance of a refractory for continuous casting and a refractory component. Specifically, this refractory contains 10-30 mass% of a free carbon component, the remainder being composed of one or more substances selected from corundum, spinel, and periclase, the periclase content being less than 40 mass%, and the total content of a silica component and a silicon carbide component being less than 15 mass%. Refractory particles having a particle diameter of more than 0.3 mm are 20 vol% or more and refractory particles having a particle diameter of 0.045 mm or less are 3-30 vol% (inclusive) when the content of the refractory particles excluding the constituent comprising a free carbon component from the constituent of the refractory is taken as 100 vol%. A substantially continuous void layer having a shape similar to that of a coarse particle is present around at least the coarse particle having the largest particle size. The refractory has an apparent porosity of 16% or less and a maximum coefficient of thermal expansion of 0.6% or less at 1500 DEG C.
