REFRACTORY FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING AND REFRACTORY MEMBER
To improve corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance of a refractory for continuous casting and of a refractory member.SOLUTION: A refractory for continuous casting is provided, including a free carbon component in an amount of 10 mass% or more and 30 mass% or less, and the balance including a main mineral phase comprised of one or two or more kinds selected from corundum, spinel and periclase, wherein the content of the periclase is less than 40 mass%, and the total of contents of a silica component and a silicon carbide component is less than 15 mass%. When a portion obtained by removing a constituent composed of the free carbon component from the constituent of the refractory is 100 vol.%, amount of refractory particles each having a particle diameter of more than 0.3 mm is 20 vol.% or more, amount of refractory particles each having a particle diameter of 0.045 mm or less is 3 vol.% or more and 30 vol.% or less, as for the refractory particles in the refractory, a substantially continuous void layer having a shape similar to the shape of coarse particles having a maximum particle size exists around at least the coarse particles. Apparent porosity of the refractory is 16% or less, and a maximum thermal expansion coefficient up to 1,500°C thereof is 0.6% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】連続鋳造用の耐火物及び耐火物部材の耐食性及び耐熱衝撃性を向上させる。【解決手段】フリーの炭素成分を10質量%以上30質量%以下含み、残部の主鉱物相がコランダム、スピネル及びペリクレースから選択される1種又は2種以上からなり、前記ペリクレースの含有量は40質量%未満であり、かつ、シリカ成分及び炭化珪素成分の含有量が合計で15質量%未満である連続鋳造用の耐火物である。当該耐火物の構成物からフリーの炭素成分からなる構成物を除いた部分を100体積%としたときに、粒径0.3mm超の耐火物粒子が20体積%以上、粒径0.045mm以下の耐火物粒子が3体積%以上30体積%以下であり、当該耐火物中の耐火物粒子のうち、少なくとも最大粒子サイズの粗大粒子の周りに当該粗大粒子の形状に相似したほぼ連続した空隙層が存在する。当該耐火物の見掛気孔率は16%以下であり、1500℃までの最大の熱膨張率は0.6%以下である。【選択図】図1
