The water level control device comprises an external pile casing, water filtering holes are formed in the external pile casing, a water stopping mechanism is arranged on the outer side face of the external pile casing, a fixed base is arranged in the external pile casing, and a submersible sewage pump is arranged on the fixed base; a water outlet of the submersible sewage pump is connected with a drainage pipe, and a pipe opening of the drainage pipe extends to the outside of the outer pile casing. When the water level control device is used, a drainage pit is dug in the side face of a foundation pit or a water-collecting well, then the water level control device is integrally buried in the drainage pit, and underground water is drained through a submersible sewage pump after being gathered in the drainage pit, the water level control device does not need to be assisted by a large machine in the installation process, and only a deep pit needs to be dug in the side face of the elevator foundation pit or the side face of the water-collecting well.
