The method comprises the following steps: sending an initial detection signal to a target area based on an electric signal sent by a control unit; when a preset condition is reached after the initial detection signal is sent out, the resistance of the adjustable resistor unit is reduced through the control unit to obtain an updated adjustable resistor unit, and the increased detection signal is sent out to the target area again, the increased detection signal is obtained by amplifying an electric signal flowing through the updated adjustable resistor unit by the operational amplifier and then inputting the amplified electric signal into the signal transmitter; and receiving a return signal corresponding to the increased detection signal based on the signal receiver so as to control the flushing state of the flushing unit according to the return signal. According to the urinal, the sensing sensitivity of the sensing device to a user under the energy-saving requirement can be improved, and then the automatic flushing response effect of the urinal is improved.
