The invention relates to the technical field of molecular sieves, and particularly discloses a molecular sieve for hydrogen production through ammonia decomposition and a preparation process thereof. The molecular sieve provided by the invention is prepared by roasting raw material particles, wherein the raw material particles comprise the following components in parts by weight: 70-80 parts of molecular sieve raw powder, 20-30 parts of clay, 3-5 parts of a pore forming agent, 8-12 parts of nickel nitrate and 6-8 parts of a binder; the clay comprises attapulgite, the pore forming agent comprises rice hull powder, and the molecular sieve raw powder comprises 5A molecular sieve raw powder, ZSM-5 molecular sieve raw powder and MCM-41 mesoporous molecular sieve raw powder. According to the present invention, the molecular sieve can show the high crushing resistance and the strong static water adsorption capacity, can be subjected to desorption regeneration at the low temperature, can completely overcome the defects in the related technology, and has the ideal use effect in the ammonia decomposition hydrogen production process.
