The slag filling material provided by the invention comprises the following raw materials: tailings, slag, water and an alkali activator, the alkali activator comprises sodium carbonate and calcium hydroxide or carbide slag. According to the invention, sodium carbonate and calcium hydroxide or carbide slag are used as the composite alkali activator, on one hand, the calcium hydroxide or carbide slag is added to reduce the concentration of slag and tailings, and water is consumed in the reaction process, so that the water-cement ratio of the filling material is reduced, and the mechanical properties of the filling material are improved; on the other hand, the concentration of calcium ions in a reaction system is increased by adding the calcium hydroxide or the carbide slag, so that the Ca/Si ratio of the hydrated calcium silicate gel is increased, the mechanical property of the filling material is improved, meanwhile, the porosity of the filling material is reduced by calcium carbonate formed by the reaction, and the mechanical property of the filling material is further improved.
