The invention relates to the technical field of formwork construction, in particular to a construction method of a box girder formwork for municipal road and bridge building, which comprises a bottom formwork with a groove structure, side formworks composed of wing plates, eave plates and side plates, end formworks, core formworks, sealing structures, movable frames, trundles and cross beams. The bottom die, the side dies and the end dies are all steel die plates, the two sets of end plates are installed at the two ends of the bottom die and the two ends of the side dies respectively, two cross beams are arranged between the two end dies in a bilateral symmetry mode and abut against the outer surfaces of wall plates of the side plates and the bottom die, two supports are fixedly welded to one sides of the cross beams, and 30-degree included angles are formed between the supports and the cross beams. The end part of the bracket is fixedly connected with a fastener with a U-shaped structure; according to the invention, the integral template system of the box girder can be assembled in a combined manner through the cross beam combination bracket and the fastener arranged among the bottom die, the side die and the end die, and compared with the original integral welding type template of the box girder, the template can be easily disassembled after the pouring of the box girder is completed, and is convenient to reuse.
