The invention discloses a method for dismantling an underwater structure of a bridge, which comprises the following steps: step 1, after an overwater structure of the bridge is dismantled, driving a steel structure cofferdam around the underwater structure of the bridge; secondly, four-corner inclined struts are installed, and cross braces are symmetrically installed between the bridge underwater structure and the steel structure cofferdam; thirdly, water is pumped through water stopping measures, and the water stopping effect is checked to be qualified; and fourthly, the bridge underwater structure is dismantled section by section, the cross brace between the dismantled section and the steel structure cofferdam is removed, meanwhile, the cross brace is installed between the steel structure cofferdam on the opposite side of the dismantled section, and bottom cleaning is conducted. A waterproof environment can be defined and is not influenced by a water body environment, an underwater structure can be quickly dismantled conveniently, and the construction efficiency and the construction safety are improved.
