The invention belongs to the technical field of ocean, and discloses an ecological weir type open breakwater which comprises a weir type energy dissipation device composed of three layers of weir type structures and a stepped box body structure with horizontal slot manger boards arranged on the front wall face and the rear wall face below the weir type energy dissipation device. Three gradually-rising platforms are formed on the upper surface of the stepped box body structure connected with the weir type structures, and the width of the platforms behind the lower-layer weir type structure and the middle-layer weir type structure is the same and is larger than that of the platform behind the upper-layer weir type structure. The three front wall faces and the three rear wall faces of the step-shaped box body below the weir type structures can serve as manger boards and are provided with horizontal wave dissipation strip seams, and the wave dissipation strip seam of each front wall face is the same as the relative position of the weir type structure at the upper end of the wave dissipation strip seam. The weir type structure is used as an independent unit to be connected with the lower box body during construction. According to the ecological weir type permeable breakwater, the elevation of the weir type wave dissipation device can be flexibly set according to the actual water level change range of an engineering position; the structure is simple, construction is convenient, applicability is high, and popularization is easy.
