Es wird ein Verfahren zum Ermitteln eines anormalen Schließvorgangs einer mittels eines Stellmotors (8) angetriebenen Tür (3) eines Fahrzeugs (1) offenbart, wobei die Tür (3) mittels eines eine Schließvorraste (28) und eine Schließhauptraste (30) aufweisenden Schließmechanismus (20) verriegelbar ist und wobei das Verfahren die folgenden Schritte aufweist: Ermitteln einer Ist-Geschwindigkeit der Tür (3) an der Schließvorraste (28) und Feststellen eines anormalen Schließvorgangs, wenn die ermittelte Ist-Geschwindigkeit von einer Soll-Geschwindigkeit an der Schließvorraste (28) um mehr als einen vorbestimmten Geschwindigkeitsschwellenwert abweicht.
