The invention relates to a pavement manhole with a frame and a cover plate hingedly mounted on the frame by a tenon which can be made captive after installation. According to the pavement manhole, a first end (9) of the tenon (3) comprises a through hole (18). The through hole penetrates through a convergent guiding member (14) which is used for inserting one pin (19) into the guiding member. Two kinds of configurations of the cover plate (2) can be used. In a first kind of configuration, no pin exists. On the condition that the cover plate is in a vertical opening position, the cover plate can be detached from the frame. In a second kind of configuration, the pin (19) is inserted into the first end (9) of the tenon (3), and furthermore after penetrating through the convergent guiding member (14), the cover plate is fixed on the frame (1). The pavement manhole is used for the field of roads.
