    A roof window features a sash ( 2 ), equipped with a glazing unit ( 3 ). In the window's closed position, the glazing unit projects with at least one of its panes, at least on one side, beyond the area of the opening in the window frame ( 1 ), overlapping with this protruding section, referred to as the "edge section", on the member of the window frame. Photovoltaic cells ( 4, 41, 42, 43 ) are located in the area of the edge sections ( 35 ) of the glazing unit ( 3 ).
