The protection fence comprises at least one pair of connection devices (3) comprising respective uprights (9) made of profiled elements having, at least on one side, a longitudinal channel (10) and, at the top, respective supporting members (14) suitable for acting as a support and a guide for the hooking of at least one panel (2). The fence comprises at least one panel (2) consisting of a metal mesh (4) comprising a series of transverse wires (5) and a series of longitudinal wires (6) which are mutually welded to form a grid. The metal mesh (4) conforms, at a first side, placed above in use, a bent portion (8) comprising, at each lateral edge of said panel (2), at least one bent terminal segment (60) of a said longitudinal wire (6) suitable for defining a hooking portion for associating said panel (2) with at least one pair of said connection devices (3).
